Thousands without electricity in Gotland due to snowfall | News in brief

In Sweden, a warning has been issued for heavy snowfall and strong winds on the island of Gotland, Swedish public radio SVT tells.

The heavy snowfall has caused power outages for many households on the island, especially in the southern and western parts of the area.

Strong winds have made the repair work difficult. On Saturday morning, it is estimated that around 2,000 people were without electricity.

According to the Swedish Meteorological Institute SMHI, stormy weather is expected to continue in the area throughout Saturday.
