In Kenya criminalizing suicide attempts is now unconstitutional

Nairobi High Court rules criminalization of suicide attempts unconstitutional. Under the Kenyan Penal Code, any person who attempts suicide is guilty of an offense punishable by up to two years in prison, a fine, or both. A criminalization fought against by human rights defenders and psychiatrists, who applauded a “historic” judgment.
