Ilves ry says that it has gone through the matter extensively and has decided to file a criminal complaint against its former coach.
The coach of Tampere’s Ilves ry football junior team is suspected of inappropriate behavior towards the team’s players, Ilves ry said on Friday. The club has filed a criminal complaint in the matter, and the coach in question has been fired.
The society says that the chairman of Ilves ry Kari Pension and chairman of the football division Heikki Tarvainen have gone through the matter together with the parties involved, the team’s players and their parents.
The club has also consulted experts from the Football Association.
– One of the club’s most important values is to ensure a safe and high-quality operating environment for children and young people. We therefore take such suspicions very seriously, Pansio said.
According to Ilves, the team’s players are offered external discussion help for the situation.
– After the matter has been transferred to the authorities for investigation, we hope for peace of mind for both them and the team members, Pansio stated.
