Hannah agrees with Trump Jr: The Danes treat Greenlanders racially

Four out of five students from Greenland studying in Denmark feel excluded and prejudiced. It shows one new Danish report.

Hanna Najaaja Olsen, who is herself a student in Copenhagen, is not surprised. She says that she herself has been exposed. Strangers have made faces at her or moved away. Others have pointed to her because she is from Greenland.

– I didn’t think it would be so difficult, she says TV2 Cosmopol.

– From time to time I have felt incredibly bad. For example, I have had difficulty speaking in class because I had such anxiety.

Agree with Trump Jr

Donald Trump Jr. went to Greenland and said there that he thinks the Danes treat Greenlanders like second-class citizens. Hannah agrees. And even the Danish government thinks there is a lot to do to improve the situation.

– That is why we have added two million in the budget to the work to strengthen the situation of the Greenlanders, says Kaare Nybvad Bek (S), who is the Danish integration minister.

Not optimistic

However, Hannah is not so optimistic about the future.

– I think it will be difficult to change, she says.

– My only hope is that the Danes respect us more and accept that there is racism in the country.
