After a very disrupted week, the sun will return this weekend in many departments.
This Friday morning, impressive temperature differences were observed in France. It was very cold in Nord-Pas-de-Calais, with a record of -10°C in Bourthes while in Corsica, 19 degrees were reached in Bastia. France is currently located in a conflict zone between cold air coming from the north and milder air of oceanic origin to the south, causing these significant temperature differences.
The week was generally disrupted with wind, rain and even snow. This Friday is the last day of the disturbance, still mainly affecting the west and center. From this Friday afternoon, the precipitation weakens and rain replaces the snow. Clearings are emerging in Hauts-de-France and Alsace.
On Saturday, the disturbance will only concern the southwest. In the morning, in the north, grayness and cold will appear with a few frosts, announces The Weather Channel. Temperatures will be between -4 and 14°C. The sun will gain ground on Saturday afternoon. Beautiful clearings will be noticeable in the northern half of the country, chasing away the clouds, as well as in the south-east. Only the Pyrenees border will still experience showers but these will eventually clear up in the evening to achieve widespread calm and dry weather. Météo-France has still placed 7 departments on orange flood alert for Saturday: Seine-Maritime, Oise, Val-d’Oise, Eure, Calvados, Ille-et-Vilaine and Maine-et- Loire.
With the strengthening of the British anticyclone, dry and cold weather is forecast for 3/4 of the country on Sunday. Temperatures will drop 1 to 2 degrees. Freezing fog will be present in the morning north of the Loire and in the Center. Météo-France marks a rather sunny Sunday afternoon across the entire region. Enough to do everyone good.
A weekend which seems to announce the weather forecast for next week as specified Météo-France : “Winter anticyclonic conditions associated with calm and dry weather. Minimum temperatures should remain below seasonal norms, maximums close to normal or even slightly higher in the south.”
