The trial about the murder of a 14-year-old girl in Landskrona is in its last day. Two accused girls, aged 13 and 15, deny murder, but admit serious assault.

– She wishes it had never happened, says the 13-year-old’s legal assistant, Maria Grosskopf.

The trial, held behind closed doors, has been stressful, but with a surprisingly calm atmosphere, according to the lawyer.

Here, the 13-year-old has given his picture of what happened. She admits that she “used some violence” and she has given a statement before the court, but she does not want her legal assistant to explain it outside the courtroom.

– What she wants me to say is that she had no intention that it would end so badly, that the plaintiff would die, says Maria Grosskopf.

The 14-year-old girl was found dead in an industrial area in Landskrona on the night of Tuesday, July 23. The preliminary investigation shows that she had gone there believing she was going to a pajama party.

The lawyer himself believes that the 13-year-old’s tough upbringing played a role in what happened.

– Social authorities have not done their job particularly well, in my opinion, but she has been let down by the adult world and social services. She has not received adequate care and it is clear that this has affected her mood and the way she thinks and has acted.

A 13-year-old cannot be sentenced to punishment by a court, but in her case it is only a matter of the Lund district court clarifying what she has been guilty of. The social services must then assess which interventions are needed.

The other girl suspected of murder is 15 years old and thus of legal age.
