Willpower is the key to powerful builds in Path of Exile 2. Without it, your best abilities remain unused. We’ll show you how to increase your will and get the most out of your character.

What do you do with will? In Path of Exile 2 you need willpower to activate passive abilities. In the game they are also called Will Gems or Spirit Gems. These passive skills can massively boost your build.

You also need the witch stat, because it also determines how many creatures you can command in your undead army.

However, in order to be able to use several or better skills, you need more of them, because more points are reserved for each activated skill. We’ll show you how to get more.

Path of Exile 2: Increase Will

How do you increase the value? To increase the Will value in PoE2, you have various options. Defeating bosses is the easiest. There are a total of three enemies who will reward you with more willpower if you defeat them:

  • Act 1: Freythorn – The King in the Mists
  • Buff: +30 Will
  • How? Kill optional boss (rituals must be completed beforehand to summon the boss)
  • Act 3: The Azak Bog – Ignagduk, The Bog Witch
  • Buff: +30 Will
  • How? Kill optional boss.
  • Act 6: The Azak Bog – Ignagduk, The Bog Witch
  • Buff: +40 Will
  • How? Kill optional boss.

    • Equipment also gives you more willpower. Above all, the scepter, which always gives you +100 will and even offers a chance for even more of the stat.

    Other items are the sun amulets, certain armor, jewels that you put in your passive tree, uniques and certain points in the ascendants of monks and witches.

    Don’t forget: In Path of Exile 2, you have to manually activate the abilities that reserve Will. First open your ability menu and select the skill. Press the corresponding icon to activate the ability. On the Xbox you can do this with the X button and on the PS5 with the square button. If you have done everything correctly, the ability should glow. The prerequisite is always that you have enough willpower available.

    Even without special items, you have at least 100 points in willpower. So choose carefully which skills you want to activate. So think carefully about which buffs you want to use.
