In Denmark, an emergency meeting has been held at the country’s prime minister’s office to discuss the situation between Denmark, Greenland and the United States. Denmark, among others, reported on the matter public radio DR and newspapers Berlingske and Jyllandsposten.
Prime Minister of Denmark Mette Fredriksen said in a press conference after the meeting that Denmark is not prepared for the current situation.
Fredriksen told the meeting that he had tried to have a telephone conversation with the future president of the United States Donald Trump’s with. However, Trump could not be reached.
According to the Prime Minister, nothing more concrete will happen until Trump takes office. Trump’s inauguration day is January 20.
Danish Foreign Minister Lars Løkke Rasmussen in turn said after the meeting that it is necessary to prepare for a good and appropriate dialogue with the future US government.
The emergency meeting called by the Prime Minister was attended by all party leaders in the Danish Parliament.
