After two days in police custody, the creator of the site Coco.fr was indicted this Thursday for no fewer than eight offenses.
“Illicit administration of an online platform”, “complicity in drug trafficking”, “complicity in possession and dissemination of child pornography images”, “complicity in corruption of a minor”, “aggravated pimping”, “criminal association” and “aggravated money laundering”, these are the eight offenses for which Isaac Steidl, creator of the very controversial dating site Coco.fr, was indicted this Thursday, January 9, 2025 after two days in custody. view.
The 44-year-old man, who renounced his French nationality by becoming Italian, lives abroad, between Italy and Eastern Europe. Summoned by the French police six months after the closure, last June, by the French justice system of his famous site, already mentioned in more than 20,000 legal investigations as a modus operandi tool, Isaac Steidl surrendered himself in France to answer questions from legal investigators. The latter have been seeking to determine, since December 2023, whether the founder of the site can be held responsible for the abuses observed in the use of his site.
Indeed, Coco.fr has been involved in a number of cases. Many offenders have in fact taken advantage of the possibility of being able to contact other people without registering and by only answering a very summary questionnaire to phish targets. Scams, rapes and even murders, multiple victims are to be deplored today. Among the most famous cases with which the site is associated, that of the rapes of Mazan and the fatal ambush which cost the life of Philippe in Grande-Synthe.
“Mr. Isaac Steidl firmly contests the accusations brought against him and will demonstrate his innocence within the framework of the legal process which begins today with this indictment”, reacted the lawyer of the creator of Coco.fr, Me Julien Zanatta, quotes The Parisianwhile justice considers that the absence of moderation would have facilitated the commission of various offenses.
