Come aboard HMS Belos – the ship that found the anchor after the cable sabotage

With a pressure chamber, helipad and dynamic positioning, the submarine rescue vessel HMS Belos has everything required to fulfill its duties in submarine rescue and advanced diving missions.

HMS Belos was originally built in the early 80s for transport and firefighting at oil platforms. Today, HMS Belos, together with the submarine URF, make up the Swedish submarine rescue system. HMS Belos can carry out diving and underwater work with a wet diving watch, or with underwater craft.

Thanks to dynamic positioning, HMS Belos does not need to anchor, but can lie still over, for example, an accident site through a combination of GPS, gyrocompass and rudder and bow thrusters.

HMS Belos belongs to the First Submarine Flotilla in Karlskrona.
