The opening part of the English League Cup semi-final ended with Tottenham’s 1-0 home win over Liverpool. Lucas Bergvall, 18, became the arbiter.
Tottenham Rodrigo Bentancur suffered a head injury and was taken to hospital in the first leg of the Football League Cup semi-final against Liverpool on Wednesday.
Bentancur, 27, injured himself in the aftermath of a corner kick in the seventh minute of the match and was left lying on the field.
His teammates showed immediate concern and the game was suspended while Bentancur received supplemental oxygen and other medical treatment for nine minutes before being substituted With Brennan Johnson.
Tottenham later announced that the Uruguayan midfielder was conscious and able to speak and was taken to hospital for further tests.
The first semi-final part of the League Cup ended with Tottenham’s 1–0 home win over Liverpool.
The decisive goal was completed in the 86th minute by an 18-year-old Swedish midfielder Lucas Bergvallwho until now had gotten mostly solid minutes in a couple of Cup matches in Tottenham. Dominic Solanke did a lot of preparatory work for a perfect match.
Liverpool was surprised by the situation when Bergvall, who was on a yellow card, broke Pool right before scoring Kostas from Tsimikabut the Swede did not receive another yellow card in the situation.
Tsimikas, who received a bump from the Swede, had not even returned to the field at the time the goal was scored.
