A report revealed the circumstances at a Ubisoft support studio that was also involved in the upcoming Assassin’s Creed Shadows. The report speaks of abuse. Ubisoft itself has now responded to the report.

The following is about abuse and a description of it. If you are sensitive to this, you should skip this article.

What is the report about? It revolves around the Indonesian studio Brandoville Studios. It has supported Ubisoft in the development of their games in recent years. Specifically, Brandoville provided support in the areas of graphics and animations.

The focus of the report is the statements of employee Christa Sydney. She talks about being verbally humiliated and given a strict work schedule. There was a mandatory daily church service, and there were also humiliations in front of other employees and requests to beat themselves and film them.

A pregnant employee is also said to have been driven to work too much and to overexert herself. After her child was born prematurely and died a short time later, she received no sympathy and had to continue working.

Most recently, Brandoville worked again for Ubisoft and did work for Assassin’s Creed Shadows, which is becoming an essential title for Ubisoft.

Now the French company has responded to the report and the allegations.
