Finnish player Lassi Lappalainen has signed a comprehensive contract with MLS club Columbus for the 2025 season.

Lappalainen, 26, who has played in the North American MLS series since 2019, represented CF Montreal for a total of six seasons. Montreal announced in November that the Finnish player will not continue with the team.
Lappalainen’s previous season was broken due to injuries. He last played in early September and only played 11 MLS games all year. In his most efficient MLS season in 2022, the left winger scored three goals and assisted seven.
Lappalainen was part of the standard equipment of the Finnish national team in the European Championship qualifiers in 2019 and also played in the European Championship 2021. The MLS season starts on February 22. Columbus will then start with a home game against Chicago.
