Gekås Ullared has, since its founding in 1963, been transformed from a small shop into a department store that attracts millions of customers from all over Sweden every year.
In recent years, several records have been broken. During the autumn holidays, last year, customers shopped for 202 million, which was a new weekly record.

New decision from Gekås Ullared
But the large influx of customers has also caused it at Gekås Ullared – at least in the car park. According to Hallands Nyheter, in the month of July, there can be 1.5 kilometer long queues on road 154 on the way to the department store’s parking lot.

But now it is clear that Gekås Ullared has decided to build a brand new parking garage.

The parking garage, which will have 500 spaces, is supposed to be built over a two-year period.
– It is so that we can pause construction during the summer and autumn. Because then we want to be able to use the surface for parking, and then continue construction during the winter and spring, says the CEO to the newspaper and continues:
