The Pacific Palisades region in the US state of California was literally surrendered to flames. It is stated that the fire, which spread rapidly under the influence of the wind, surrounded the settlements. Authorities are on alert.
30 THOUSAND PEOPLE WERE EVACUATED
The forest fire, which started in the Pacific Palisades region near Los Angeles, spread to residential areas in a short time due to the effect of strong winds. While hundreds of firefighters sent to the region were trying to fight the flames, the Los Angeles Fire Department announced that 30 thousand people living in approximately 10 thousand households were ordered to evacuate. Amateur camera footage of the moments when the flames surrounded the settlements revealed the panic.
“DANGER CONTINUES”
California Governor Gavin Newsom stated that the strong winds in the region caused the fire to spread rapidly and said, “We are not out of danger yet. “We are already seeing the devastating effects of this fire, which started in Pacific Palisades and grew rapidly in a short time,” he said.
IT IS EXPECTED TO GET FURTHER VIOLENT
Los Angeles Fire Department Chief Anthony Marrone stated that meteorologists predict that the wind intensity will increase further and said, “The danger continues.” It was reported that fire fighting efforts are continuing.
