Prime Minister of Canada Justin Trudeau said on Monday that he would resign from his post and from the leadership of the Liberal Party.
Trudeau said he would remain prime minister until the party found a successor.
Trudeau became Prime Minister of Canada in 2015 and led his party to victory in 2019 and 2021. However, Trudeau and the Liberal Party have seen a decline in popularity in recent years.
