Japan trade deficit falls in March

(Finance) – The trade balance closed again in deficit for the eighth consecutive month of Japan in March.

According to Ministry of Finance of Japan (MOF), the seasonally adjusted trade balance recorded a deficit of 412.4 billion yen. The figure compares with the red of about 668.3 billion yen in February, while in March 2021 there was a surplus of 615.6 billion. Market expectations indicated a decreasing deficit of up to 100.8 billion yen.

In terms of volumes, theexport reports a trend increase of 14.7% to 8.460 billion yen, while the imports they recorded a 31.2% rise to 8,873.3 billion yen.
