The German World Population Foundation (DSW) announced the world population for 2024. In its statement, DSW reported that the world population will increase by 82 million in 2024 compared to the previous year. While it is reported that population growth is mostly observed in Africa, it is stated that the number of people living in Africa may more than double in the next 20 years.
While it is predicted that 8 billion 56 million people will be alive in the world as of the new year, according to DSW, although population growth continues, the increase has slowed down and women around the world have an average of 2.2 children.
Stating that the world population could reach 10 billion in the 2080s, DSW reported that Germany’s population remained at the same level throughout the year and was approximately 84 million.
