Gastroenterology Specialist Prof. said that having breakfast at the right time deeply affects body health. Dr. Vedat Göral stated that having breakfast between 6-8 in the morning can reduce the risk of serious diseases such as heart attack and cancer. Prof. Dr. Göral said, “Breakfast improves the quality of life and prolongs life by ensuring the biological clock works regularly.”

‘BREAKFAST IS A CRITICAL MEAL FOR A HEALTHY LIFE’

Stating that breakfast is a critical meal not only to start the day, but also to maintain a healthy life in the long term, Prof. Dr. Göral said, “Breakfast is also associated with happiness and is the most important meal of the day. However, the timing of breakfast is at least as important as its content. Scientific studies have shown that eating breakfast between 6-8 in the morning has much more positive effects on body health. Those who have breakfast between 6 and 8 in the morning have a reduced risk of diseases such as colon cancer, heart attack, atherosclerosis and obesity. “However, health problems such as fatty liver and high cholesterol are more common in people who eat breakfast after 8 a.m.,” he said.

Pointing out that breakfast is especially important for children, Prof. Dr. Göral said, “Children who eat breakfast focus better on the lesson, are more energetic and their academic success increases. However, children who do not eat breakfast usually go to school with low energy and lose interest in the lesson. Breakfast must include an egg, fresh vegetables, whole grain bread and olives. Freshly squeezed fruit juice can be consumed, but ready-made fruit juices should be avoided. Packaged and fast food products should be avoided as much as possible. Breakfast consisting only of pastries and bagels in the morning is extremely harmful to your health. Situations such as stress, tension and anger are more common in individuals who do not eat breakfast. “Starting the day with a good breakfast is an indispensable habit for a healthy and happy life,” he said.
