Provincial police said they were called about the reported gunshots amid an altercation on River Road around 5 pm on Dec. 19 in the First Nation between Sarnia and Chatham. Police said there were no injuries and two men were arrested.
Colton Altiman, 29, and Jesse Williams, 35, both from Walpole Island, have been charged with possessing drugs for the purpose of trafficking, police said. Williams is facing additional charges of carelessly using a firearm, recklessly discharging a firearm, and unauthorized possession of a firearm, police added.
Altiman was also facing a charge of carelessly using a firearm, but that has since been dropped.
Both men were held in custody and were scheduled to appear in bail court on Christmas Eve, police said in their Dec. 20 statement.

Altiman had his bail hearing moved up to Dec. 23 while Williams had his on Friday. They were both released for $250 and $1,000, respectively.
The reasons they got bail along with the evidence heard during their hearings are protected by a publication ban that will be in effect until after their trials are over.
They’re banned from talking to each other while out of custody. They’ve also been ordered not to talk to multiple other people, go to certain places, and Williams is banned from weapons.
They’re both due back in court on Jan. 9. The charges haven’t been tested in court.
