“I’m the victim here” – The great tech YouTuber Linus is on the defensive again

For many years, Linus Sebastian, the man behind the YouTube channel “Linus Tech Tips,” was a darling of the community. But he has had to deal with repeated accusations for some time now. Even now he is accused of having known years ago what kind of dark activities the savings app “Honey” was running, but he did nothing to inform the general public about it.

Why is Linus Tech Tipp on the defensive? The YouTuber MegaLag published a video before Christmas in which he accused the savings app Honey of bad practices: the app did not always show the best offer as they promised.

In addition, Schindluder was operated with affiliate links that were exchanged in a non-transparent manner so that Honey itself benefited from them, while the influencers who promoted Honey came away empty-handed.

The accusation against Linus Tech Tips is that he worked with Honey as a huge tech YouTuber, but then ended the collaboration because he apparently knew that something was wrong. However, he did not make this public and instead allowed the “fraud” to continue for years.

MegaLag’s video now has over 11 million views, and the allegations carry enormous weight.

If he had known back then that normal customers were also disadvantaged by giving false optimal savings coupons, he would probably have pushed a contraction back then, but back then they simply had no idea what was behind it, says Linus.

He explains that he and his team were among the influencers who relied on affiliate income and Honey cheated them out of this income.

He also doesn’t like the fact that he is now considered the “biggest influencer to have promoted Honey.” He says: MrBeast, with its 300 million subscribers, is much bigger. He doesn’t understand why he’s the focus here.
