Police on Six Nations of the Grand River said Friday they have charged a 27-year-old man with manslaughter after an overdose death.
Police said that Darryl Thomas Whyte Jr. of Mississaugas of the Credit First Nation is also charged with unlawfully causing bodily harm and trafficking in fentanyl.
The charges are related to the death of 20-year-old Tamara Lynn General-Martin, who was found unconscious at an address on Chiefswood Road on the morning of July 2, police said.
Police said she was one of two people at the home who were found unconscious and transported to an area hospital. General-Martin was later pronounced dead.
