Gueye Para, president of the African Federation of Descendants of Senegalese Tirailleurs, is extremely angry, even more so after the recent advances obtained on the Thiaroye massacre : “ On the day of this commemoration, he was present. He was there, in Thiaroye. A few days later, he came to say that these Senegalese riflemen do not deserve these honors ? But it’s scandalous ​​​​​​​! And we leave him there, at the presidency of the Republic ​​​​​​​? »

The African Federation of Descendants of Senegalese Tirailleurs therefore decided to file a complaint. Gueye Para hopes that the government will take advantage of Ousmane Sonko’s general policy declaration, Friday December 27, to announce the dismissal of Cheikh Oumar Diagne.

“ What we solemnly ask of the President of the Republic, his excellency Bassirou Diomaye Fayeis to dismiss him from his position as minister and for justice to be done. This is why we sent a complaint to the public prosecutor. », explains Gueye Para.

The president of the association also recalls that the minister’s remarks shocked beyond the borders of Senegal. “Sheikh Oumar Diagne spat on the grave of the Senegalese riflemen. He insulted the entire Senegalese army. You heard the Guineans, the Chadians reacted, the Ivorians, the Congolese… Everyone is angry with this minister », he concludes.
