These are the 10 best series on Disney+ in 2024 – with Star Wars only at the bottom

After the best series on Disney+ in 2023, we want to break down for you in 2024 which series highlights shaped the year of the streaming service. That’s why we have them highest ratings on Moviepilot selected and the series ranked in ascending order.

In order to select the 10 best series on Disney+ in 2024 * To be included, productions had to have been published between January 1st and December 31st, 2024 and had collected at least 25 reviews. Both Disney+ original productions and series from other channels that were launched exclusively on Disney+ in Germany were eligible. If the rating was the same, the invisible decimal places counted in the placement.

Neither newly launched series such as Star Wars: The Acolyte or Marvel’s Echo nor the fantasy productions Pauline and Renegade Nell were able to prevail in 2024. The series crime thriller Death and Other Details also just missed the top 10. The Disney+ ranking of the best series of the year now looks like this. (Data as of December 20, 2024)

10th place in the best Disney+ series of 2024: Shardlake

The series Shardlake delivered crime entertainment of a more unusual kind on Disney+ this year: namely in a historical guise. The lawyer Matthew Shardlake (Arthur Hughes) works as a detective during the time of Henry VIII for Thomas Cromwell (Sean Bean), for example to investigate monastery murders in England and thus ensure justice under the crown.

The villain creates a circle to uncover several MCU secrets and pass the tests of the dangerous witch path – while also correcting 3 Marvel problems along the way. 7th place in the best Disney+ series of 2024: Star Wars – Skeleton Crew

Skeleton Crew sends one with a new Star Wars approach Group of children accidentally go on a galactic adventure. Catapulted into the distance on a found spaceship, they meet pirates and the mysterious force user Jod Na Nawood (Jude Law), who wants to help them find their way home. But are his motives really just selfless? Although the last Star Wars series of the year only started in December, it has already been well received by families and fans enough to make it into the top 10 Disney+ series of 2024.

6th place in the best Disney+ series of 2024: Becoming Karl Lagerfeld

Daniel Brühl becomes Karl Lagerfeld in an acting masterpiece in the Disney+ series Becoming famous German fashion designer. After its launch in October, the British series Rivals only became a series insider tip on Disney+ in the last quarter.
