Tokyo Xtreme Raceris getting ready to come to the PC platform. Developed by Genki, the game will be released globally on Steam in 2025. The new game of the legendary street racing series brings together nostalgia and innovation with published gameplay footage. Players will be able to customize their vehicles as they try to defeat their opponents in one-on-one duels.
Tokyo Xtreme Racer Gameplay and Features
Tokyo Xtreme Racer offers players an exciting street racing experience. The main mode of the game is based on winning by consuming opponents’ “soul points”. To do this, you can knock your opponent into an obstacle or get at least 25 meters ahead of them. Additionally, you have the opportunity to customize your vehicles with stickers, modified parts and neon lights.
The published gameplay footage also includes remixed music tracks from previous games in the series. Genki is gradually revealing the list of vehicles that will be included in the game. Vehicles announced so far include popular models such as the Nissan Skyline GT-R V-Spec II, Toyota Supra RZ, Mazda RX-7 Type RZ and Subaru Impreza WRX STI Spec C. Additionally, the Initial D fan favorite, the Toyota Sprinter Trueno GT-APEX 3 Door, will also be featured in the game.
Tokyo Xtreme Racer revives the spirit of the Shutoko Battle series. The series, which was first published for the Super Famicom (SNES) in 1994, appears again after a long break. Following iconic productions such as Shutoko Battle X and Import Tuner Challenge, this new game will be a modern interpretation of the series.
