Fire at Lidl customers had to be evacuated

The fire spread quickly

On arrival, the emergency services were met by open flames. Firefighters from two stations worked intensively to bring the fire under control, which they succeeded in doing before it could spread to the rest of the building.

– When we got there, it was burning with open flames, says the fire officer on duty Michael Jansson to County newspaper Södertälje.

Both staff and customers who were in the store had to quickly evacuate.

Ventilation was carried out during the night

During the night, the fire department worked to ventilate the building to ensure there was no remaining fire risk. An ambulance was called to the scene, but according to P4 Stockholm no people have been injured.

On the morning of December 25, the fire was completely under control and no further efforts are needed at the scene.
