At Christmas, all sorts of shows have a Christmas episode. Also at Who Wants to Be a Millionaire? Christmas is celebrated and Günther Jauch presents the quiz show with special rules. We give an overview.
Who Wants to Be a Millionaire – Christmas Special: This is what awaits you
The rules of the quiz show, which has existed for 25 years, are now known. After a preliminary round, a candidate asks himself 15 questions, which are asked by Günther Jauch. As a rule, he has 3 jokers at his disposal and there are 2 security levels into which you fall back if you answer a question incorrectly. Whoever answers all the questions correctly will become a millionaire. Since 2007 there has also been an additional joker, which you receive if you forego the last security level.
A special rule awaits the candidates for the Christmas special. You will receive a so-called Joker star, in which a possible additional joker is hidden. This means that a candidate can even answer Jauch’s 15 questions with five jokers.
Jauch: Jokers are essential for winning the million
Jokers are essential for winning millions in the quiz show. Günther Jauch mentioned in a podcast celebrating the 25th anniversary that burning jokers was one of the reasons why no one has won the million in five years.
Above all, Jauch is of the opinion that as a candidate you are the joker use more efficiently should. By this he means that you have to use the jokers when you really need them – in case of doubt also with the 50 euro question. Because if you have no idea what the answer could be, you have to trust a joker or you’ll go home without any money.
