A Swiss Olympic level snowboarder died in an avalanche Sports

Snowboarder Sophie Hediger has died at the age of 26.

Swiss snowboarder Sophie Hediger died accidentally after being surprised by an avalanche in his home country on Monday. The accident happened on a mountain slope west of Davos in Arosa.

Hediger, 26, competed in her sport at the 2022 Beijing Winter Olympics. She finished in the top three on the podium twice at last season’s Women’s World Cup.
