8.25 pm: Shoplifter on tricycle caught
Agents from the Utrecht West unit arrested a shoplifter on a tricycle yesterday. On Instagram they say that he had stolen “pricey shaving products” and then fled on his bicycle. A store employee chased the thief, but was unable to keep up with him on foot. She did manage to put the police on the right track.

A car hit its side on the Bergweg in Amerongen this afternoon after a single-vehicle accident. The driver lost control of the car, hit the shoulder and spun onto its side. The car then moved to the other side of the road. The driver was able to get out himself and was not injured. The car is a total loss.
