Man to hospital – stuck under car in ditch
On Christmas Eve, emergency services and an ambulance in Lidköping went out to help a disabled man who was stuck under his car in a water-filled ditch.
The alarm came in at 4:23 p.m. and seven minutes later the emergency services were on the scene to free him.
– The patient has run down and hit his head and was hypothermic. We have recovered the patient and the ambulance has taken over, says Simon Rosén, officer on duty at the rescue service.
The condition of the man’s injuries is unclear.

Swish has been reporting trouble since 11 a.m. on Christmas Eve, and it still hasn’t been resolved.
By 2:30 p.m. at the latest, Swish updated on their website that they are experiencing disruptions in Swish payments.
– It is about an operational disruption, and we are working to resolve it as quickly as possible, says Matilda Westerman at Swish’s press service.
On Christmas Eve, swishing is most active between 10 and 11 o’clock. At 3 o’clock the swishing dips dramatically, and then rushes again at 5 p.m. according to statistics from Swish.

The Crown Princess Family wished the officers and soldiers of the high guard in the high guard wing of the castle a Merry Christmas.

American Airlines canceled all of its flights on Christmas Eve, reports ABC News.
Flights were halted early Tuesday morning local time due to a technical problem. According to information to Fox News, 1,979 departures should have been stopped in the middle of the Christmas traffic.
The FAA, the Federal Aviation Administration, stated that American Airlines requested a halt to the flights.
Shortly before 2 p.m., Swedish time, the flight stop was lifted and flights could take off again.

Five are sentenced for riots in Amsterdam
Five people have now been sentenced for the violence that broke out after a football match in Amsterdam on 7 November.
The five have been found guilty of a range of crimes, including kicking Israeli soccer fans and inciting violence in chat groups. The highest sentence, six months in prison, was awarded to a man called Sefa O for violence against several people.
The police have investigated at least 45 people in connection with the violence after the match between Dutch Ajax and Israeli Maccabi Tel Aviv.
A further six suspects, three of whom are minors, will be brought to trial at a later stage.
Images of the violence spread around the world and sparked outrage in Israel, with accusations of a “pogrom”, violent persecution with anti-Semitic overtones. Five Israeli soccer supporters were injured.

Two night trains from Stockholm have suffered from the same technical problem. Both locomotives have broken down, says SJ.
One train was on its way from Stockholm to Duved and the other from Stockholm to Luleå.
– They broke down, we had two broken locomotives, says Lina Edström at SJ’s press service.
The passengers to Duved had to switch to a replacement bus. Those on their way to Luleå got a new locomotive in Örnsköldsvik – but they will be almost three hours late.
– All travelers are automatically compensated for this. The entire ticket amount plus compensation, says Lina Edström.
