– I think there are many who feel bad during Christmas and no one should have to sit alone and feel bad, says Mats Kardell.
Many years of abuse
Mat’s life has been marked by many years of doping abuse, and there have been Christmas nights when he has had to be hospitalized because he felt so bad.
– Words cannot describe how it feels to feel left out at Christmas, he says.
Want to create community
Since he got sober and drug free over 16 years ago, he has wanted to arrange this. Which prompted him to post on Facebook inviting those who are alone on Christmas Eve. Today around 18-20 people are expected to come to his home.
– I have now been preparing this for three months.
With the help of sponsors, everyone will be able to get food and a Christmas present. People are expected to come from Jönköping, Boxholm, Norrköping, Linköping and Vikingstad.
In the clip, Mats tells more about what it has been like to be alone at Christmas.
