The Russian cargo ship Ursa Major has sunk in the Mediterranean region, says the Russian Foreign Ministry.
The accident happened early on Christmas Eve in the sea area between Spain and Algeria.
According to the Russian Ministry of Defense, 14 of the ship’s 16-person crew were rescued.
Two crew members are still missing, officials said Tuesday.
