Royal Quest Online Climbs to the Top Again

Royal Quest Online has topped SteamDB’s popular games list after a successful relaunch. The game attracts attention with “Very Positive” user comments.

It was first released in 2012 and closed in 2017 due to lack of players. Royal Quest Onlinegarnered a lot of attention with its relaunch on December 19th. Reimagined by 1C Online Games and Forward Gateway, this free-to-play MMORPG achieved a “Very Positive” user rating on Steam and topped SteamDB’s “Popular Releases” list. As part of the relaunch, a total of four new servers were opened for America, Asia and Europe. However, no significant innovations were made in terms of graphics and gameplay.

Royal Quest Online: Classic MMO Experience

Royal Quest Online invites players to the fantasy world of Elenia, populated by goblins, werewolves, orcs and dragons. Players can choose one of four main classes: warrior, mage, hunter and thief. These classes are divided into two subclasses, such as crusader knights that act as tanks or dark knights that focus on damage. The game offers a goal-oriented combat system similar to that of classic MMORPGs such as World of Warcraft and Lineage II.

In addition to quests and dungeons, the game also includes PvP challenges through castle battles. Guilds compete for castles, which provide prestige and valuable resources. A remarkable innovation that comes with the relaunch is that rare items can be sold on the Steam market. This feature creates a new incentive for players who engage in in-game farming.

Royal Quest Online has received over 1,000 reviews on Steam just days after the relaunch, with 81% of them positive. However, the game has been criticized for its “pay-to-win” mechanics, which allow you to level up faster or buy powerful equipment with real money. In addition to this situation, complaints are expressed in the Reddit community that the general gameplay of the game is ordinary and uninspired.
