The Christmas weekend is mostly nice and cozy, but can often get expensive. With all purchases such as clothes, food and expenses for travel can make the finances for January difficult for many Swedes, especially after a year that has been financially tough.

“Will Turn”
– We see that the interest rate cuts will take effect, tax cuts that will affect household finances and the economy will turn around, says Elisabeth Svantesson in P1 Morning.
She emphasizes, however, that households with small financial margins will still have a tough time.
Recently, the government announced that the recession will be more protracted than before, partly because household consumption has not started as quickly as expected.
– Many households probably feel a concern or a doubt about how things will develop. But basically, households have better hope for the future now than they did a year or two ago. The optimism is there, but things are going slower, says Elisabeth Svantesson.
