The Magic 7 Pro has been available in China for several weeks now, but Europe is still waiting. When will it be possible to purchase the future Honor smartphone? New clues seem to give us the answer…
The challenge is great for Honor. After the much-loved Magic 6 Pro, it’s time to get a facelift and make way for a new generation of smartphone, the Magic 7 Pro. Marketed in China for several weeks now, Europe should soon follow suit, according to the latest indicators.
If the Magic 7 Pro seems at first glance similar to its predecessor, there are clear improvements on many fronts.
A design faithful to the Magic lineage
In terms of design, the Magic 7 Pro differs little from the previous model, since it has almost similar dimensions and weight. Measuring 162.17 x 77.10 x 8.80 mm for 223 grams, no big revolution is coming.
The Magic 7 Pro, on the other hand, benefits from much less curved edges, which provide better grip for users. The next Honor model remains faithful to its signature design, since it integrates a round and imposing rear camera into its Magic 7 Pro.
Honor is also expected to present a completely different Magic 7 model on Monday, December 23, with a revolutionary design titled “Porsche Design”. This would integrate a hexagonal-shaped rear camera with metallic contours. Its performance would be identical to other models.
A remarkable screen
The Magic 7 Pro is likely to shine with the quality of its 6.8-inch OLED screen, which displays a resolution of 1280 x 2800 pixels. The smartphone also offers a 120Hz refresh rate.
Improved performance
Honor would be banking on particularly high performance for its next smartphone. The Magic 7 Pro should indeed integrate a Snapdragon 8 Elite processor, which will be capable of providing the best capacities on the market. A clear improvement over the Magic 6 Pro’s Snapdragon 8 Gen 3.
The Magic 7 Pro should benefit from 12 GB of internal memory.
Even more optimized photo quality
On the camera side, there is little chance that the Magic 7 Pro makes people disappointed. The Honor smartphone offers three rear photographic modules: a main sensor of 50 Mpx, an ultra wide-angle 50 Mpx as well as a telephoto lens of 200 Mpx. Regarding selfies, the front camera also benefits from 50 Mpx.
Honor, like many other phone brands, has left a lot of room for artificial intelligence. This will be able to improve zoom performance up to 100x and ensure good photo quality, even without great brightness.
Photo editing is even more varied thanks to the many AI tools, such as the “AI Eraser”, which erases unwanted elements, the “AI Image Extension”, which enlarges the frame of an image or even the “AI style”.
An exemplary capacity for autonomy
Honor should not skimp on the autonomy capabilities of the Magic 7 Pro either. The smartphone will be equipped with a powerful 5,850 mAh battery, allowing for astonishing longevity. It will be compatible with 500W wired and 80W non-wired charging.
Connectivity
Like most of the latest phones on the market, the Magic 7 Pro will be compatible with Wi-FI 7 and Bluetooth 5.4. It also benefits from IP68/IP69 certification, which ensures increased resistance to dust and water.
Release date and price
The Magic 7 Pro should most likely be released in Europe in the first quarter of 2025. It could be that the latest Honor generation follows a similar trajectory to the previous one: the Magic 6 Lite was launched in France in January 2024, while the Pro version was published in March 2024.
In China, the Magic 7 Pro 12 GB/256 GB is sold for around €770 excluding taxes, a similar price to the Magic 6 Pro when it was released. In France, the smartphone should be offered at a fairly high price, i.e. €1,225.90. As for the Magic 7 Lite (a much less high-end model), the price would be €376.89.
