Ministry of Commerce Customs Enforcement teams continue to deal blow after blow to poison traffickers. In two separate operations held at İpsala Customs Gate, 118 kilograms of marijuana and cocaine were seized, and in the operation held at Esendere Customs Gate, 375 kilograms of heroin-type drugs were seized.
DRUGS WERE BLOCKED AT İPSALA CUSTOMS GATE
Within the scope of risk analysis and targeting studies carried out by İpsala Customs Enforcement Smuggling and Intelligence Directorate teams within the framework of anti-smuggling activities, two vehicles, buses and automobiles, coming to enter Turkey were put under the spotlight. After entering the customs area, the vehicles were directed to the x-ray scanning system. As a result of the scanning, a suspicious density was detected, and a detailed search was carried out with the help of narcotic detector dogs with sensitive noses. As a result of the checks, 118 kilograms of drugs, including skunk marijuana and cocaine, were seized in 137 packages hidden in various parts of the vehicles. It was determined that the drugs seized in two separate operations were worth 79 million Turkish Liras.
375 KILOGRAMS OF DRUGS WERE SEIZED AT ESENDERE CUSTOMS GATE
Customs Enforcement Teams of the Ministry of Commerce carried out another operation at Esendere Customs Gate. As a result of the successful operation of the Customs Enforcement Teams, 375 kilograms of heroin-type drugs were seized. As a result of the analysis and targeting studies carried out by the Esendere Customs Enforcement Smuggling and Intelligence Directorate teams within the scope of anti-smuggling activities, the truck type vehicle arriving at the Esendere Customs Gate was evaluated as suspicious by the teams. As a result of the evaluation, suspicious density was detected in the cement-loaded truck vehicle, which was sent for x-ray scanning. During a detailed search of the vehicle, 375 kilograms of drugs worth 450 million Turkish Liras were seized. Investigations into the incident continue before the relevant Chief Public Prosecutor’s Office.
A TOTAL OF 493 KILOGRAMS OF DRUGS WERE NOT ALLOWED
Ministry of Commerce Customs Enforcement Teams prevented 493 kilograms of drugs, with a market value of approximately 529 million Turkish Liras, from entering the country through 3 different operations. (UAV)
