A wild Finnish record in swimming for Ronny Brannkarri

In the short course WC swimming, Sunday evening saw a great surprise and a Finnish record.

In the men’s 100-meter backstroke, there was a big bang in the evening section of the Espoonlahti WC swimming, when Ronny Brännkärr broke a new Finnish record with a time of 51.99.

Brännkärr representing TaTu Tampere broke Kalle Mäkinen by four hundredths of the Finnish record held in the name.

There was a great moment at the prize distribution, when Kalle Mäkinen, who is currently swimming in the USA, came to hand out the 100-meter backstroke prizes, who at the same time was able to hand over the honor of the Finnish record to Brännkärri.

– I wouldn’t have thought that after the World Championships I would have been able to do something like this, Brännkärr said in an interview right after the swim.
