An 85-year-old man was hit by a car at a pedestrian crossing in Ljungskile on Sunday.
The man was flown by ambulance helicopter to Sahlgrenska University Hospital in Gothenburg. He is seriously injured, according to the hospital’s press service.
The elderly man received cardiopulmonary resuscitation before the ambulance helicopter arrived, says rescue service force leader Mikael Hirvonen to Bohusläningen.
The police have started a preliminary investigation into negligence in traffic and causing bodily harm.
– The car that was involved in the accident is being impounded for a technical examination, says police spokesperson Adam Isaksson Samara.
The alarm about the accident, which occurred at the old E6, came at 12:17 p.m.
