Thanks to the subscription and purchase price, World of Warcraft has been generating high sales for Blizzard’s account for two decades. But how big is your share of the windfall? A website now tells you how much money you have invested in WoW so far.
What kind of website is this? On Reddit, WoW fan CloudyBastien presented the project spentonwow.com, which he and a friend have been working on for some time. He himself says: “It’s a first basic version, so we’re sure there are bugs and we might have missed something in the way Blizzard takes our money.”
The website works as follows:
Unfortunately, the website is not 100% accurate and suitable for every player. On the one hand, there are certainly some people who have been playing WoW since 2005, 2006 or 2007. All subscription payments that were made before 2008 are missing.
In addition, the website does not recognize all content correctly. The Viridian phase hunter, for example, should cost 25 euros. However, the corresponding deluxe version of Burning Crusade Classic was significantly more expensive. Discount purchases, subscriptions paid for via tokens or free keys from Blizzard are also not recognized.
WoW is celebrating its 20th birthday, how long have you been there?
Afraid of the truth?
How does the community rate the website? Some players are happy about the website and the insight it gives into their own WoW past. Others don’t want to know exactly how much money they have invested in the Blizzard MMORPG over the years.
How long have you been playing WoW? How long do you think your playing time will be? How much money have you invested in World of Warcraft over the years? Do you even know the answers to the last two questions, or would you rather not know them? Tell us in the comments! Speaking of which: the player plays WoW for 40,000 hours and doesn’t even use a mouse
