Hanna Marklund talks about Marika Domanski Lyfor’s importance in the player above.
Today it was clear that four new names have been elected to Swedish football’s Hall of Fame: Albert “Abben” Olsson, Björn Andersson, Marika Domanski Lyfors and Hanna Marklund. For SVT’s expert, it was a surprising announcement.
– Now it was so surprising when it came. I had no idea when it might come, so it came as a surprise, she says a few hours later and continues:
– Now that you’re not active either, it’s not that common to be praised in that way. It turns out in a very nice way when you get it later and can look back.
Hanna Marklund goes on to say that it feels extra special to be elected at the same time as Marika Domanski Lyfors.
– She is one of those who have meant the most to Swedish football throughout the ages on the women’s side. The confederation captain for a very long time and with all that experience and then back to the confederation as manager of the national team. Invaluable I would say she has been.
Are you going to celebrate this somehow?
– I haven’t had time to plan anything, but now it’s time to take care. I’ll make sure there’s some celebration today, concludes Marklund.
