Ukrainian drone strikes deep into Russia

Ukraine has attacked the city of Kazan, over 100 miles from the front, with drones, Russian authorities say.
Several people have been injured in Russian drone attacks against Kharkiv in northeastern Ukraine on Friday evening.

Ukraine’s drone attack on Kazan, the capital of the Tatarstan region, came on Saturday morning. There are no reports of people being injured. The city has a population of more than 1.3 million.

Tatarstan Governor Rustam Minnichanov’s press spokesman says the city was attacked by eight drones. Six reportedly hit residential buildings, one was shot down and one hit an industrial facility, according to the statement.

Russia’s Defense Ministry accuses Ukraine of targeting “civilian infrastructure” in Kazan.

Ukraine has not commented on the data.

Ukrainian police investigate Russian war crimes

Eight people, including a 12-year-old, were injured in Russian drone attacks on the large city of Kharkiv in northeastern Ukraine on Friday night, according to local authorities.

A nine-story apartment building is one of the buildings damaged in the Russian attacks that targeted several central districts of the city of Kharkiv late in the evening.

Ukrainian police are investigating the attacks as war crimes and claim that Russia directed them at civilian targets.

Russia has sent a total of 113 drones over Ukraine during the night to Saturday, Ukrainian representatives say.
