What else happened? The popular fan project Star Wars Galaxies Restoration is celebrating this year’s anniversary of the MMORPG oldie’s death with the biggest update to date. You can expect, among other things, 5 new races, revised skill trees, 4K textures, a jewelry slot for earrings and a modernized x64 client. In 2025, non-VIPs will also be able to play the most modern version of Lord of the Rings Online

This happened with the big MMORPGs:

  • Gold Road was the last chapter for Elder Scrolls Online, everything will be new from 2025. ZeniMax boss Matt Firor revealed what this means in detail in a letter to the community.
  • The Elder Scrolls Online recently experienced data center issues that temporarily brought the game to a halt. The developers announced compensation for this this week. But not all players receive them.

  • A YouTuber fought bots in WoW because Blizzard just can’t handle it. But now he has to stop because there are death threats. This fits with the report that bots are unfortunately also annoying on the “Fresh” realms of WoW Classic – but there are creative solutions.
  • A new pet in World of Warcraft is causing excitement. Because that can create portals and is so extremely useful.
  • Addons in World of Warcraft are too powerful. With the next patch, Blizzard wants to introduce even more restrictions. Also planned for patch 11.1: The depths should be even better and receive stronger rewards.
  • The World of Warcraft developers have an idea for how they want to change Mythic+. The problem is that it could change everything.
  • The MMORPG Lost Ark not only received a new update this week, but also a roadmap that extends until March 2025.
  • The Dawntrail expansion for Final Fantasy XIV is currently not particularly well received on Steam and is receiving unusually harsh criticism. MeinMMO editor Sophia Weiß had a similar experience until she found the best way to play the MMORPG and is now finally having fun with it again.
  • Let’s stay in Eorzea: Final Fantasy XIV has already had a few event collaborations behind it. Most recently, among others, Final Fantasy XVI, Fall Guys and Yo-Kai Watch. One of the developers now wants a co-op with one of the most successful games in the world.
  • The new update for Throne and Liberty makes the rune grind much easier – the community is celebrating the improvements.

  • With World of Jade Dynasty, probably the most beautiful MMORPG in the world has just launched, but unfortunately there is a “but”.
  • An experienced developer worked on the MMORPG Wildstar after success with the Fallout series. After completion, the game was only online for a few years – which doesn’t surprise the developer behind it.
  • After the outcry in the community, the developers of the MMORPG Tibia announced that they wanted to retrospectively review some of the character deletions that had been carried out. Now the result of the test has been determined, and not all players are happy with it.
