Anna-Karin Heijdenberg has impressed at the World Cup.
But now comes the sudden announcement about new competition weekends.
She is forced to leave the country and fly home to Sweden again.
She is doing her very first season at the World Cup and has really taken to it. 24-year-olds Anna-Karin Heijdenberg has impressed so far in the biathlon season.

Now the World Cup season has reached France and the winter resort of Le Grand-Bornand, it will be the last competition before the Christmas break. For the ladies, it involves three competitions in the form of a sprint on Friday, a pursuit start on Saturday and a mass start on Sunday.

But now comes the sudden announcement for Heijdenberg that she will miss all the competitions. Just hours before Friday’s race, she is forced to leave the country immediately.
Anna-Karin is flown home
The biathlon debutante is flown home to Sweden again after becoming ill, the Swedish Biathlon Federation announces in a press release. A heavy setback for the Swede who has done so well so far during the winter.

Last weekend, she was part of the Swedish relay team that secured third place. Anna-Karin Heijdenberg has also achieved a new personal best with an individual 14th place and is currently in 28th place in the overall World Cup.
Instead, it will be the teammates Elvira Öberg, Anna Magnusson, Ella Halvarsson, Sarah Andersson and Johanna Skottheim who will start Friday’s sprint race.
