Orange has just entered into a partnership with Disney. The operator thus offers its subscribers free access to the American group’s channels, preview films and a Disney+ subscription at a preferential rate.

2025 will mark the separation between Canal+ and Disney. Indeed, the encrypted channel is on the verge of losing several flagship services, in particular the channels and content of the big-eared mouse as well as the Disney++ platform. As a reminder, since 2020 it has benefited from the exclusivity of the first broadcast window for films from the American giant, included the platform within its cinema/series offer and offered the group’s channels such as Disney Junior, Disney Channel, Disney Channel +1, National Geographic and National Geographic Wild.

But fans of Disney, Marvel and Pixar films can rest assured! The big-eared mouse has decided, instead, to turn to internet service providers to maintain its place in French households. Thus, the operator Orange has just announced, this Friday, December 20, 2024, a partnership with The Walt Disney Company to enrich its entertainment offering. This collaboration, which will take effect on January 2, 2025, promises exclusive discounts on Disney+, early access to blockbusters and the addition of two new channels. Something to delight families and attract new potential subscribers!

Orange and Disney partnership: what benefits for subscribers?

Thanks to this new partnership, subscribers to Livebox Max – the high-end offer at 34.99 euros per month for six months then 57.99 euros per month – will be able to benefit from a permanent reduction of 5 euros on their subscription to Disney+. This means that it is possible to take advantage of the platform for an additional fee of only 99 cents with the advertising-supported subscription. In addition, those who sign up for the Standard ad-free subscription for the first time will benefit from a one-month free trial.

In addition to Disney+, Orange already offers a discount of 5 euros per month on Netflix and Max. Good news, the discounts can be combined! Also, for an additional 2.97 euros per month, it is possible to take advantage of the three streaming platforms! It’s definitely worth it!

Another advantage: the Disney Channel and National Geographic channels will be included in the Orange TV subscription from January 2, 2025. They will be accessible from the TV decoder, the Orange mobile application and a wide selection of connected TVs. Finally, the partnership offers privileged access to the latest films from Disney studios – including Disney, Pixar, Marvel, Lucasfilm, 20th Century Studios and Searchlight Pictures productions – only four months after their release in cinemas, through the VOD platform ‘Orange. Please note, this will only be a VOD offer, i.e. available for purchase or rental. To benefit from access to Disney+, you will have to wait 17 months.

Orange and Disney: privileged access to content

“We are very happy to partner with Orange, to make our iconic content and stories accessible to as many French households as possible”rejoices Hélène Etzi, President of The Walt Disney Company France. “This agreement with The Walt Disney Company France is excellent news for our subscribers. It is part of our desire to offer our customers the best in entertainment, by offering them quality channels and facilitating their access to essential services like Disney+.

This partnership benefits both Orange and Disney. By partnering with the historic operator, the American giant ensures optimal distribution of its content in France, through different channels. For its part, the ISP adds weighty arguments to attract subscribers, while positioning itself as a key player in entertainment in France. In short, it’s a win-win!
