For half a century, Leif Silbersky has been a defense attorney in some of the country’s most high-profile trials. Among other things, he has had assignments in the Neurosedyn scandal, the Trustor härvan and the Fermenta affair. He has also defended the Hagaman, Wikileaks founder Julian Assange, one of the defendants for the discotheque fire in Gothenburg and one of the so-called Military League.
Started with Henning Sjöström
Leif Silbersky was born in Malmö in 1938. His career as a lawyer began at celebrity lawyer Henning Sjöström’s firm before he started his own in the late 60s. He continued to work as a professional lawyer right into his 80s.
Alongside law, he has written several detective novels and appeared in films.
Funeral with next of kin
Leif Silbersky fell asleep in his home peacefully surrounded by his immediate family – wife Rita, children Eva and Thomas and grandchildren.
“Through his long and successful career, he became a champion of individual rights and a voice for those who often stood alone against the system,” writes the family.
The family announces that the funeral will take place in the circle of the closest mourners.
