The first big Marvel blockbuster of the new year starts with Captain America 4: Brave New World in February. Then not only Anthony Mackie will be seen in the cinema in the superhero role for the first time as Chris Evans’ successor.
The film also brings Indiana Jones legend Harrison Ford into the MCU as Thaddeus “Thunderbolt” Ross, after the part was last played by actor William Hurt, who died in 2022. Apparently the new Marvel star is getting the hang of things was so much fun (or made so much money)that he wants to return straight away.
Harrison Ford wants to return directly to the Marvel universe
In the new Captain America film, Ross has now been elected US President. As acting head of state, he also wants to put Mackie’s superheroes in a military leadership position. However, it quickly becomes clear that The president’s entourage was infiltrated and danger threatens from the innermost circles. Alongside the mysterious villain Sidewinder (Giancarlo Esposito), Ross transforms himself into the Red Hulk.

Ford probably enjoyed the role as the new rage monster in the Marvel universe. According to Comic Book Movie, the star told Empire magazine:
I’m waiting for my new order. I think it will be fascinating to see where this character goes when he goes somewhere. When does Captain America 4 open in theaters?
The fourth part of the Marvel series starts on February 13, 2025 in German cinemas. It is not yet known whether Ford is scheduled to appear in the role again afterwards. In Avengers 5: Doomsday and Avengers 6: Secret Wars, which start in 2026 and 2027, we could probably see the bright red rager again.
