(Finance) – Retail sales in the United Kingdom are slowing. According to theOffice for National Statisticsretail sales rose by just 0.2% on a monthly basis in November, after the 0.7% decline recorded in October, but lower than the +0.5% estimated by consensus.
On an annual basis, a positive change of 0.5% was recorded, also in this case below expectations (+0.8%) and after +2% in October.
The core retail sales, which exclude fuel, I grew by 0.3% on the month, (+0% expected) after -0.9% in the previous month. On a yearly basis, the core figure recorded +0.1% compared to the previous +1.6% (+0.7% expected).
