Basketball in the NBA Lauri Markkanen represented by the Utah Jazz took their sixth win of the season. Utah beat the Detroit Pistons 126-119 early on Friday Finnish time.
Utah started the game with a bang and won the first quarter with as many points as 48–19. Such an effective start has only been seen in the history of the club once before in 1982, when the team scored a whopping 50 points in the opening quarter.
In the second period, Detroit got into the game and narrowed the gap. Going into halftime, the difference was only 13 points in favor of Utah. The second half of the game was much more even, and Utah managed to keep the lead it had taken at the beginning.
Markkanen played a good 36 minutes in the match, scored 27 points and took 14 rebounds. Markkanen’s hitting accuracy was in demand in the match. Less than half of the shots in game situations hit their target, and only one in three of the three-point shots sank. At the free throw line, Markkanen was confident and made every one of his ten attempts.
Detroit scored the most points in the match Cade Cunningham with 33 points.
Despite the win, Utah is still second to last in the Western Conference. Only the New Orleans Pelicans are behind.
Memphis beat Curry
Tuomas Iisalon assistant coach, the Memphis Grizzlies took a handsome victory over the Golden State Warriors on their home floor. Memphis was better than Golden State, starred by Steph Curry, by a score of 144–93.
Memphis was more efficient than Golden State from the start and led the match from the starting whistle until the final buzzer.
The home team’s players scored the most points Santi Aldamawho scored 21 points and grabbed 14 rebounds. Memphis managed to overshadow Curry, who scored just two points in the game.
Memphis is in second place in the Western Conference behind the Oklahoma City Thunder.
