Prime Minister Ulf Kristersson and his wife Birgitta Ed have lived together in their villa in Strängnäs for 22 years. Last spring they decided it was time to move and in May the villa was put up for sale.
According to Expressen, Ed published a post on Facebook where she wrote that the couple was looking for a smaller home that would be “Strängnäs base for our whole family”.
Now they have sold the villa.

Kristersson and Ed’s old villa was built in the 1920s and is 400 square meters in size. The couple bought the villa 22 years ago, i.e. in 2002. The purchase also included a wine cellar, gym and sauna. The plot is also a whopping 1,719 square meters.
In 2002, the couple bought the villa for SEK 11,500,000 – and it was for the same price they sold it in 2024.

The prime minister couple have indeed found a smaller house to which they have moved, Samuelsson says the newspaper.
