Love Actually is a romantic movie by Richard Curtis. Released in 2003, the choral feature film has since gained a reputation, becoming a cult film to watch during the holidays. Bringing together in the cast the flagship of British cinema (Colin Firth, Hugh Grant, Keira Knightley, Liam NeesonBill Nighy,…), it is an unmissable comedy during the holidays, even if all the plots and all the lines are now dated (we now point out grossophobic sequences or less romantic scenes than it seems…). If many know Love Actuallyfew know however that a sequel was released 15 years after the film’s release.

Titled Red Nose Day Actuallythis short film serves both as a charity event to support Red Nose Day, the equivalent of the English telethon, but also as a sequel to the romantic comedy released thirteen years earlier. The opportunity to discover what has become of the characters of Love Actually 13 years later. We find in particular the actors Hugh Grant, Liam Neeson, Colin Firth, Andrew Lincoln, Chiwetel Ejiofor, Keira Knightley, Martine McCutcheon, Bill Nighy, Thomas Sangster and Rowan Atkinson. Emma Thompson is absent, the actor playing her husband Alan Rickman having died in 2016. Laura Linney was also unable to take part in this short film. Red Nose Day Actually is not available for streaming, as it was broadcast only on BBC One on March 24, 2017.

Synopsis – A Prime Minister (Hugh Grant) secretly in love with his charming collaborator, a writer (Colin Firth) deceived by his girlfriend and who falls under the spell of a Portuguese woman to the point of learning her language, a rock star on the comeback who promotes his latest single… All these characters and many others meet by chance at Juliet’s wedding (Keira Knightley) and Peter, or on a doorstep, and each of them will illustrate in their own way the vagaries of love life. Betrayals, failures, brotherly love, timid relationships or fiery passions, men and women in search of love follow each other but are not alike.
